Read the following excerpt from my book ‘The NZ Small Business Superhero’s Marketing Handbook’ to find out how to improve the readability of your website with headlines and subheads…
Headlines and subheads form points of reference on your web pages and are creative design elements. They also provide valuable white space that aids the readability of the content.
It is important that the text styles chosen for headlines and subheads provide contrast to the remainder of the content on the page, and that they are applied consistently throughout the website.
Try to tell the main story of the page through the main headline and subheads alone. In other words, if a reader were to skim the page and only read the subheads, they would get a sense of the main points the page were trying to make.
