Business sellers like to think the value of their good will is significant, whereas business buyers tend to be sceptical and suggest a lower figure.

But if you can point to an active email database and social network of hundreds if not thousands of members which you communicate with regularly, and which respond positively to offers you send, then you are in a much stronger position to insist on a higher valuation.

Often when buying a business, it is the database of contacts that the new owner is after, and what better way to demonstrate the value of this database than through online relationship marketing.
